School interventions for reducing suicide of children and adolescents

The significant increase in suicide deaths among children and adolescents reinforces the importance of involving schools and school communities in raising awareness about suicide and removing the stigma surrounding the subject. This evidence summary discusses the factors that can trigger suicidal behaviors (drug and alcohol use, bullying, sexual violence and depression included), and raises alternative intervention options.
