Partner team overview

The Knowledge Management and Transfer Unit of Burkina Faso’s Ministry of Health was created as a result of the institutionalization of a piloted rapid response unit to support decision-making.
It produces knowledge that can be used to inform public health policies and decision-making, and disseminates research and evidence to various stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, health care providers, and clinicians.

With PEERSS funding and support, partners from the Knowledge Management and Transfer Unit have been strengthening their capacity to prepare evidence maps and support other ministerial departments in promoting the use of evidence-informed decision-making.
Moving forward, partners have planned the following activities:
Training decision-makers and researchers on how to use scientific evidence to inform public policy.
Using a multisector platform (OneHealth) to fight antimicrobial resistance.
Identifying organizations that can support the implementation of a rapid response service model.
Developing an Internet Portal with Public Health Resources.
Supporting the government to track COVID-19 expenditures to inform policy discussion and policy making.
Developing rapid responses to urgent decision-making needs in the health sector and beyond.
